Thomas Walsh, Assistant Professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at the Indiana University School
of Music, taught at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Purdue University, and Millikin
University before joining the IU faculty. An active performer of both jazz and classical music, he has taught and
performed in Germany, Austria, Italy, Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, and many of the United States.
His first jazz CD, New Life, was released on the RIAX label in 2002 complementing his 1998 classical release, Shaking
the Pumpkin. A Yamaha Performing Artist, Professor Walsh also teaches at the Bands of America Summer Band Symposium.
Dr. Walsh holds degrees in Saxophone Performance and Jazz Studies from Indiana University, where his teachers were
distinguished classical saxophonist Eugene Rousseau and renowned jazz educator David Baker.
